On
Saturday, January 31st in White Rock, British Columbia, Pacific
Spirit Stone Designs attended the unveiling of a unique monument
honouring four-year old Alexa Renee Middelear. Alexa, a vibrant
little girl, was tragically killed by a drunk driver in May
2008.
Pacific
Spirit Stone Designs collaborated with her family
to create a one-of-a-kind monument that was to be given to
her preschool,
a place where she flourished. It was a meaningful project for
all involved. We were honoured to take part in creating this
monument and spent countless hours meeting with the family
to ensure it was something that truly reflected her spirit.
Global TV and local newspapers were on hand to capture the
unveiling.
Following
the presentation of the monument, Alexa's
father, expressed his thanks to Pacific Spirit Stone
Designs, in an email: “[We]
Wanted to also let you know how deeply meaningful your efforts
are to my family. You have, like a true artist, been able to
capture Alexa's life and spirit in a unique and powerful way
- and for that we are eternally grateful.”
More
information about Alexa's story can be found
at: www.act4alexa.com.
From there, you can contribute to the Alexa Middelaer
Fund.
All
contributions will be used to remind ordinary British
Columbians that drinking and driving
just isn’t worth the risk.
